James Kinsella & Adam Carnell

Adam and James started instantprint during their final exams at university. As friends from school they had always been involved in running small business ventures and at university, ran student nights and bought promotional print for the events.

The end of university saw their chance to go it alone. Having struggled purchasing print for the club nights, they were determined that this could be made easier for inexperienced buyers. This set the objective for instantprint which is to make it as easy as possible for small and micro businesses to buy print online.

From a micro-business based in Newcastle, the business went from strength to strength. Rapid growth saw the business move to a 100,000sq ft production facility employing 270 people. To top it off, instantprint has been named in the Sunday Time Fast Track 100 two consecutive years in a row.

Lessons Learnt

Growing from start up to £30m turnover in 7 years has taught instantprint founders Adam Carnell and James Kinsella many lessons.
